GI_Forum 2021 Special Session „Geo-social Analytics”
Due to the wide-spread use of disruptive digital technologies like social media, wearable sensing devices and digital communication tools, we now have new, large and widely available data sources at hand to analyse geospatial processes. These new data sources particularly provide the possibility to analyse social and societal processes with inherently geospatial nature like, for instance, urban dynamics, collective movement, communication patterns, or epidemiological spreads.
This thematic focus welcomes contributions revolving around the analysis for geospatial social processes, including – but not limited to – methodological advances through new machine learning based and mixed-methods approaches.
Contributions can be submitted as full paper or short paper until February 1, 2021 or as poster until May 1, 2021. Every contribution needs to be submitted via the conference submission website and will be subject to double-blind peer review. Authors of accepted full and short papers are invited to present and discuss their papers in the special symposium. For guidelines on submission, please visit http://www.gi-forum.org/call.
Accepted full and short papers will be published in the Open Access GI_Forum Journal. Publication will be online (see http://epub.oeaw.ac.at/gi_forum). The publication is included in Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index and is also listed in SCOPUS.
