Update: GI_Forum 2020 will take place as virtual conference

GI_Week, as the umbrella term describing the combined activities of the English-language GI_Forum and the German-language AGIT symposia, will take place as virtual conference from July 6 – 10, 2020.

Here’s a brief summary of the most important changes:

  • We’re limiting the maximum number of parallel sessions and will be extending the conference to a full week.
  • We’ll shorten our sessions to 45 minutes
  • Keynote presentation and panel discussions will emphasize thematic foci
  • Short “highlight” presentations by authors with enough time for Q & A or break-out group discussions
  • Learn new skills in live Workshops and webinars
  • Interactive poster session with brief presentations by the authors
  • Virtual EXPO with the possibility to find out about the latest products and discuss them in-depth with exhibitors in private chat rooms
  • Attractive all-in ticket fees

We’re looking forward to sharing more detailed information with you shortly on a newly created website. In the meantime, thanks for your patience.

What to expect

Every year anew we’re trying to make our GI_Week in Salzburg as diversified as possible, focus on different and current topics, and try new session formats. A significant part of our participants are GI_Forum regulars, who repeatedly return to Salzburg in the first week of July to learn about the latest trends and developments, to meet “old” colleagues and make new friends. Participants who attend GI_Forum for the first time especially enjoy the homely atmosphere.

We will provide more details on the agenda for the virtual conference at shortly.
